Stewardship

As primary stakeholders of the Philbrook Valley and Watershed, most Community Association members actively take care of the lands around themĀ as they have for the last 130+ years, including:

- fire/fuels cleanup

- clearing of clogged water passages

- monitoring of sensitive areas for illegal activity

- water testing

- roads clearing

- security (checking of the security cameras around the lake)

- adopting the roads into the area for trash pickup

Most members have made physical improvements on a PG&E-leased lot in the form a cabin.

We maintain two hiking trails in the area.

We are very active with Friends of the High Lakes, our neighboring conservation organization to the east.

We monitor and protect the natural trout spawning areas in the lake, especially in the late Fall and early Spring when the reservoir is low.
